Hogfolk
D&D HogFolk Race
Appearance and Lifestyle
HogFolk resemble a blend between humans and boars: sturdy in build, with thick skin and often pig-like features such as a flat nose or small tusks. They are omnivores with a robust stomach that allows them to digest almost anything. HogFolk usually live in seclusion or in small groups, often in places where they can hide or operate freely.
Mindset and Culture
HogFolk are known for being cunning, selfish, and opportunistic. They strive for wealth and power, sparing no method to achieve it even if it means betraying their own kind. They frequently use the technology or inventions of other races, which they shamelessly steal or copy. Their sense of morality is flexible, as long as it benefits them.
Trade and Deception
They are infamous for selling goods though nine out of ten of their wares are fake, stolen, or of poor quality. Still, they often manage to lure buyers with extremely low prices or clever sales talk. They are masters of swindling, using this skill as a survival mechanism.
Appearance and Style
HogFolk dress in what can best be described as a messy steampunk style. They wear clothing and gadgets stolen from wealthier individuals or modified by themselves. Their goal is clear: they want to look like the elite and radiate the same kind of power.
Lifestyle and Travel
HogFolk rarely stay in one place for long. They wander in search of new opportunities and markets, unless they are revered or gain prestige somewhere. In such cases, they settle temporarily to amass power and wealth. Some genuinely believe they are famous or worshipped or at least convince others of it.
