Order of the Roll - Dungeons and Dragons Madagaska - Order of the Roll

Madagaska

Madagaska

  • What does the country look like?
Tropical rainforest with humid temperatures, rivers and waterfalls.

  • Which country or countries is this near?
    The island Banavita

  • How many races live in this country?
    Chameleonfolk, Hissfolk & Grungs
  • What are the culture and traditions?
Chameleonfolk believe in genderneutrality. They live by the standard that everyone of their race needs to be able to perform in all gender roles. Little chameleonfolk are being taught both hunting and gathering, and all the other tasks that life requires. They use inclusive genderneutral language.

This to huge despice of the Grungs, who believe in their own moral superiority and view the Chameleonfolk as woke. They believe that their god Crater has given them a divine mission. This mission is simple: all other races must submit to the faith of the Grungs.

The reason why Chameleonfolk and Grungs don’t kill each other immediately, is because they are both scared of the Hissfolk. Hissfolk worship the goddess Medusa. Their poison is very venomous, which is why the Grungs and Chameleonfolk stay out of their way.

    Traditions are:

    • Chameleonfolk: Weddings are being held completely genderneutral, for example both partners walk together down the aisle. They have genderneutral activities for kids (their favourite one is rockclimbing), and to respect their God Sage they teach each other genderneutral language and correct each other in a very kind and gentle way if someone uses the wrong word.
    • Grungs: The Grungs pray to their God Crater, and make it a habit to convice other races of their beliefs.
    • Hissfolk: The faith in Medusa is strong enough for the Hissfolk to not need to perform any rituals or traditions.
  • What is the traditional dresscode?
    • Chameleonfolk weir armour & robes tied with a rope, blazer and dress, or button-up shirts and harem pants.
    • Grungs weir clothing from the age of the chivalry, with mitres on their heads.
    • Hissfolk wear mostly black and gold clothing, with masks and hoods around their faces to remain anonymous, quite like assassin clothes.
  • How many cities are there?
Every race has their own main territory, but travel a lot through the rainforest. There are 3 races.
  • What religion prevails in the country
    • Chameleonfolk praise genderneutrality. Their God Sage, which means wisdom, is pangender, meaning they can change in all the genders there are. Chameleonfolk believe that their God is wise enough to rise above gender and their standards.
    • What makes the Grungs particularly distinctive is their religious conviction. They believe that their god, often depicted through symbols such as a sacred cross with rounded ends, has given them a divine mission. This mission is simple: all other races must submit to the faith of the Grungs.
    • Hissfolk often worship the goddess Medusa, whom they revere as their sacred protector and source of power.
  • What is the symbol of the country?
    • The chameleonfolk have a statue of a genderneutral symbol, made with materials from nature.
    • The grungs have their own churches and statues of their God and the cross from their belief.
    • Hissfolk make statues of the people they kill, so they have stone statues of their own hunting trophies screaming for mercy.
  • How do creatures travel in this country?
    • Chameleonfolk travel by foot, climbing and by gripping anchor points with their tails.
    • Grungs hop around on the ground, rarely using any vehicles.
    • Hissfolk: The snake-like variant slither and swim, and the human-like variant mostly walk.
