Owlin

Dnd Owlin Race

The Owlin are a mysterious and majestic race that resemble large owls, with feathers in deep shades of gray, black, and silver. They move silently, their eyes sharp as blades, always alert. Their culture embodies discipline, secrecy, and tradition deeply rooted in ancient Japanese influences such as the way of the shinobi and the bushidō code. Like the Badgerfolk and the Tortle, they follow the teachings of the dojo, where body, mind, and magic are forged into a single unity.

Tournament

In Owlin society, the dojo plays a central role. Here, they are trained in silence, speed, and the use of shadow magic. Every five years, the great tournament of Sanjū Shima is held, where the strongest warriors from each region compete to determine who will become the next leader of the island. For the Owlin, this battle is sacred not only to seize power but to fulfill their destiny: to shape the land according to their vision of order and control.

Chikuyōzan

Most Owlin reside in the region of Chikuyōzan, an area full of dense, misty forests and ancient moonstone temples. Here reigns Kurogane, one of the three dojo masters on Sanjū Shima. Under his iron will, the Owlin clan has transformed: once a people of wise night guardians, now a secretive society that draws power from one of the three moons. This lunar magic grants them control over illusions, mental manipulation, and shadow movement a dangerous combination in the hands of warriors who are masters of silence.

Kurogane

Kurogane believes that true order can only emerge through complete control of the island. Under his leadership, the Owlin conduct covert operations, spy on other peoples, and use their magic to sow discord. His influence extends even beyond Chikuyōzan his followers are feared and respected.

Yet not all Owlin are dark of heart. Some struggle with their leader’s actions and seek a path of balance, where their magic can be used for protection rather than domination. This internal division creates tension within the people.

Moonlight

Where the Badgerfolk follow the sunlight and strive for justice, and the Tortle seek harmony with nature, the Owlin choose their path under the moonlight a path that leads to power, mystery, and possibly… doom.
