Pur­ga­to­ry is the place between heav­en and hell. This is where you go when you die.
They decide whether you go to hell or heav­en, or whether you stay in Pur­ga­to­ry and work there. They decide who goes where based on the rules.

• If you have done most­ly good, you go to heav­en.
• If you have done most­ly bad, you go to hell.
• And if you are some­where in the mid­dle, you go to Pur­ga­to­ry.

Pur­ga­to­ry is the only place where you keep your mem­o­ries of your for­mer life, in Hell and Heav­en you slow­ly lose them (with an occa­sion­al déjà vu).

What does the coun­try look like?
Pur­ga­to­ry is a large flat/office build­ing that is metres high. When you look through the win­dow, it seems end­less. The build­ing looks like an office, with crea­tures work­ing hard behind their com­put­ers. When they are done work­ing, crea­tures go sleep in the same build­ing, on high­er floors. When­ev­er some­one dies, a new room and office place is cre­at­ed for this crea­ture.

What are the cul­ture and tra­di­tions?
For a Pur­ga­to­ry, this means get­ting to work as soon as you get up. They usu­al­ly get up at 6 a.m., have break­fast, get ready, and start work at 8 a.m. They don’t real­ly have any tra­di­tions, except for cel­e­brat­ing each oth­er’s birth­days and tra­di­tions such as Christ­mas and East­er.

What is the tra­di­tion­al dress­code?
Most peo­ple walk around in suits.

How many cities are there?
No cities are to be found here. There are floors, but they go on for­ev­er, and new floors are often added when new crea­tures come to work.

What reli­gion pre­vails in the coun­try?
There is no main reli­gion here. There are many reli­gions for each being who has died and been sent to Pur­ga­to­ry. Every­one’s reli­gion is respect­ed, with­out judge­ment.

What is the sym­bol of the coun­try?
The grim reaper and small chapels where you can pray if you wish to.
