Shardmind
Dnd Shardmind Race
The Shardmind are mysterious, magical beings that appear as humanoid figures made of crystal, diamond, silver, gold, and other precious metals. Their bodies consist of gleaming, sharp fragments that seem to float together in a solid form elegant and dangerous at the same time.
Crystal Dimension
They dwell deep underground, often near volcanic regions where the heat and energy of the earth enhance their magic. The Shardmind originally come from another dimension known as the Crystal Dimension. No one knows exactly how they arrived in the world of D&D, and even the Shardmind themselves have no knowledge of how to return. Over time, however, they have adapted and made this world their home.
Distrust
Most Shardmind avoid the surface. They harbor a deep mistrust of surface-dwelling races, partly out of fear that others might seek to use them quite literally for the rare and valuable materials their bodies are made of. They fear being dismantled for magical or commercial purposes.
Crystal City
The largest Shardmind settlement on earth is Crystal City, a hidden underground metropolis made entirely of pure crystal. Here resides their king an ancient and wise being who safeguards the balance between magic, safety, and knowledge.
The Oldest Race
The Shardmind have existed on this world for thousands of years and are considered one of the oldest races in the D&D setting. Though they are rare and tend to isolate themselves from the world, they carry with them a rich history and secrets that even the gods might long to know.
