Sharkin
Dnd Sharkin Race
The Sharkin are a fierce seafaring people who dwell both in deep oceanic caverns and in the sunken city of Atlantis. Known for their strength and vigilance, they serve as the guardians and protectors of the underwater world. They play an important role in the Council of the Depths, where one of their mightiest warriors or most tactical leaders holds a seat.
Appearance and Traits
Sharkin are humanoids with features reminiscent of various shark species, ranging from hammerheads to tiger sharks. They possess muscular bodies, sharp fins, razor-like teeth, and powerful tails. Both males and females retain their shark-like traits, though some female Sharkin display more streamlined, dolphin-like features that make them exceptionally agile in the water. Their eyes are keen, their senses highly developed, and their very presence is often enough to keep enemies at bay.
Role and Society
The Sharkin are primarily employed as protectors of Atlantis. They serve as bodyguards for important council members and as defenders of sacred underwater sites. They are deeply loyal to their kin and community but not all of them follow the same path.
Some Sharkin are involved in darker pursuits. In the shadowy corners of underwater cities, a criminal network thrives, where certain Sharkin engage in smuggling, theft, and even piracy. This duality makes their people both fascinating and dangerous.
They frequently clash with surface dwellers especially pirates and fishermen who steal shrimp and fish from their waters. Shrimp are considered a delicacy among Sharkin and are eaten with great pride and passion.
Faith
Like the Whalefolk and Octopodes, the Sharkin worship the sea god Thal’Krabb, whom they regard as a primordial force of both justice and vengeance. His image often adorns their weapons and tattoos, and many believe that Thal’Krabb grants them strength in battle.
