Urby

DnD Urby Race

The Urby are wise and intelligent beings. They love reading, collecting books, and are fond of board games – especially chess. Most Urby live in the magical land of Gammbearia, with the exception of the Ice Urby, who live alongside the Pengfolk in the frozen realm of Heard.

Types of Urby

There are five known kinds of Urby:

Brown Urby (Grizzly Bears)

These Urby are known for their love of music, dominoes, and cuddles. They have big hearts, enjoy good food, and are often the warmest and most welcoming of their people.

Black Urby

The Black Urby are the most intelligent of all. They spend much of their time reading, playing chess, or adventuring through Dungeons & Dragons. Many of them become powerful Wizards thanks to their sharp minds and thirst for knowledge.

Panda Urby

These warriors are recognizable by their golden armor. They are master hunters and have a fondness for bamboo. Panda Urby are strong fighters, often serving as the protectors of their people.

Yellow Urby

A rare but beloved kind. They are friendly, wise, and deeply fond of honey. Yellow Urby are known as peacemakers and are often sought out as advisors.

Ice Urby

These Urby live in the cold land of Heard, together with the Pengfolk. They too often wear golden armor and are excellent hunters. Despite the harsh climate, they are strong, brave, and fiercely loyal to their kin.

Gammbearia

Gammbearia is a magical land filled with libraries, wizard schools, and tall towers where mighty Wizards reside. It is famous for its tournaments: chess matches, D&D competitions, and other board games are part of everyday life.

Every ten years, the Gammbearia Championship takes place – a grand tournament where competitors face off in a variety of board games for the crown. The winner becomes the new ruler of the land.

Gammbearia is the home to all the Urby except Polar Urby, who live on the island Heard.

Heard

The island Heard is the home to the Polar Urby or Ice Urby, which is a peaceful and beautiful island with snow-capped peaks and sparkling ice caves. The Polar Urby like living there, since they have a restistance against the cold.

Polar Urby

The Polar Urby have a king, but there is a huge discussion going on about who of them is the best king. This discussion requires most of their daily tasks, along with hunting, eating, sleeping and protecting the land. Mostly the one of the Polar Urby who is the strongest, wins the conversation and gets to be king for the day.

Other than that, these Polar Urby are master metalworkers and forge their own armour, which is a source of great pride and essential in combat.

King Poeh Bear

The current king of Gammbearia is Poeh Bear. He is beloved by his people for his warm heart and endless kindness. He is a master of board games – so far, almost no one has been able to defeat him. If someone is sad, he will do everything in his power to cheer them up. His favorite snack? Of course: honey.
