Whalefolk
D&D Whalefolk Race
The Whalefolk are an ancient and wise seafaring people who dwell in the depths of the ocean, often in vast underwater caves or the sunken city of Atlantis, where they coexist with other aquatic races such as the Octofolk and Jellyfolk. Their species is renowned for its strength, memory, and diplomatic nature. One of their eldest members serves on the council that governs the underwater world. This council selects a new ruler of the seas every five years.
Appearance and Traits
Whalefolk have massive, whale-like bodies with strong, muscular builds. They combine the streamlined appearance of a whale with human features: arms, legs, and a broad head with a colossal mouth. They can temporarily store objects in this mouth, which proves surprisingly practical during travel or combat. Despite their size, they move with calm deliberation.
Beliefs
The Whalefolk also worship Thal’Krabb, whom they honor as the eternal protector of the oceans. According to their legends, Thal’Krabb emerged from a deep chasm on the ocean floor to save their people during a Great Flood in the distant past. His golden back is considered a blessing,
a symbol that wisdom and wealth can rest atop raw strength.
