Order of the Roll - Dungeons and Dragons Zerathuun - Order of the Roll

Zerathuun

The planet Zerathuun

Zerathuun is a large jungle/swamp planet once ruled by the Zerathuuni and now in the power of the Mind Slayers. The Zerathuuni stood no chance against the Mind Slayers. The Mind Slayer dominate the Zerathuuni.

  • What does the planet look like?
The country is a large jungle/swamp planet with futuristic palaces and buildings, designed by the Mind Slayers, who made the Zerathuuni build it for them.

  • Which country, countries or planet is this near?
The Mind Slayers made their own planet explode because of disagreement with the rules, then they conquered the planet Zerathuun where the Zerathuuni live. The Mind Slayers then proceeded to downgrade the Zerathuuni into servants.

  • How many races live on this planet?
Mind Slayers, Zerathuuni, and many other races who remain unknown.

  • What are the culture and traditions?
The Mind Slayers conquer and rule territories/planets with an iron fist. They also celebrate National Conquest Day, the day they took over the planet Zerathuun. Lastly they celebrate the birthday of the Elder Brain, Xul’thekar.

  • What is the traditional dresscode?
Mind Slayers in D&D often wear simple, functional clothing (cloaks, tunics) that covers their humanoid form, but with an emphasis on elegant, often purple, black or grey colours and psionic symbolism such as geometric patterns, which express their power. They also use special equipment for their thralls, such as carapace armour and gas masks, to control the Zerathuuni. The Zerathuuni must wear mostly beige or brown overalls because these clothes/colours make them look subdued.

  • How many countries are there on the planet?
There are many countries on the planet Zerathuun. We know nothing about most of them. The most important country is Illithid, where their leader Ulitharid lives.

  • What religion prevails on the planet?
Mind Slayers believe in Xul’thekar, the Elder Brain. This is a wondrous, living brain with tentacles and boundless intelligence and dreams who floats on the planet. This Elder Brain also connects to spaceships which they can control remotely so that they float through space. In these spaceships you find a small brain that is connected to the Elder Brain.

The Zerathuuni look up to Paul, a Zerathuuni interstellar refugee, who carries the trauma of his kind. He fled to the world “Order of the Roll”, where most of the races in this campaign live. He is relentlessly pursued by the feared Mind Slayer Drak’zuhl, who is intent on capturing or killing him. Paul hopes to free his kind one day, but hasn’t got the chance or ability to do so yet.

  • What is the symbol of the planet?
Xul’thekar, the Elder Brain, who looks like a giant Mind Slayer head. The brain is so enormous that it extends noticeably and attracts all your attention.

They also have large statues of the Mind Slayer on Zerathuun.

  • How do creatures travel here?
With a spaceship that looks like a brain with tentacles.
