DnD Zerathuuni Race
The Zerathuuni are a mysterious and warlike race originating from the distant planet Zerathuun, a world that once stood under their domination. Once, they were powerful warriors, masters of discipline and inner strength. But those days are gone.
Planet Zerathuun
The planet Zerathuun is now in the hands of the dreaded Mind Slayers bizarre, psionic beings with octopus-like heads. These Illithids conquered the planet and reduced the proud Zerathuuni to nothing more than servants. The domination was brutal and merciless. The Mind Slayers seek absolute control, hoard magic as a weapon, and dream of subjugating multiple worlds.
Oppressors
The Zerathuuni hate their oppressors with every fiber of their being. Many try to escape from Zerathuun, but only a few succeed. Those who manage to flee remain hunted, for the Mind Slayers never allow anything or anyone that threatens their power to slip away.
Appearance
Zerathuuni appear as lean, muscular humanoids with green or gray-green skin, pointed ears, and markings or dots across their bodies. Their eyes shine with an inner fire the result of centuries of struggle for freedom and identity.
Paul
Recently, a Zerathuuni has been sighted in your D&D world. His name is Paul perhaps an unexpected name for an interstellar refugee, but do not underestimate him. Paul carries the trauma of his people with him, and he is being hunted by a feared Mind Slayer named Drak’zuhl, who is determined to capture or eliminate him.
Elder Brain
The Mind Slayers are led by a malevolent, ancient being known as Xul’thekar, also called the Elder Brain. This entity commands the Illithid with pure mental power and is planning the next step in their galactic expansion.
The battle between the Zerathuuni and the Mind Slayers is far from over… and now your world risks becoming entangled in the middle of it.
Stats
- Ability Score Increase. When determining your character’s ability scores, increase one score by 2 and increase a different score by 1, or increase three different scores by 1. You can’t raise any of your scores above 20.
- Creature Type. You are a Humanoid.
- Size. You are Medium.
- Speed. Your walking speed is 30 feet.
- Age. Zerathuuni mature slower than humans do. reaching maturity around age 40. Their life span is typically 350 years, with some living to the age of 500.
- Zerathuuni Psionics. You know the Mage Hand cantrip, and the hand is invisible when you cast the cantrip with this trait.
- Starting at 3rd level, you can cast the Shield spell with this trait. Starting at 5th level, you can also cast the Detect Thoughts spell with it. Once you cast Shield or Detect Thoughts with this trait, you can’t cast that spell with it again until you finish a long rest. You can also cast either of those spells using any spell slots you have of the appropriate level.
- Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells when you cast them with this trait (choose when you select this race). None of these spells require spell components when you cast them with this trait.
- Mental Discipline. Your innate psychic defenses grant you advantage on saving throws you make to avoid or end the charmed and frightened conditions on yourself.
- Psychic Resilience. You have resistance to psychic damage.
- Languages: Your character can speak, read, and write. Common, Gith and the language of Space: Sporian, plus one other language that you want.
