Zorgo

Dnd Zorgo Race

The Fish-Mad of the Depths

The Zorgo resemble grotesque hybrids between human and fish. Their squat bodies are covered in shimmering blue or purple scales, and their hands human-like in shape end in dull, blunted claws. Where a neck should be, their fishlike head sits awkwardly, often adorned with fins or catfish-like whiskers, as if it had been crudely attached. Their bulging eyes, forever yellow with pitch-black pupils, always seem to stare at things no one else can see.

Sea God Thal’Krabb

Once, the Zorgo lived near the surface waters, under the influence of the great sea god Thal’Krabb, the Watcher of the Depths. But in an act of collective madness, they turned away from their ancient faith. They denied their god’s existence and began inventing their own bizarre, twisted beings born from the fractured depths of their collective subconscious. And, mysteriously… these gods began to take form.

Blibdoolpoolp (the Sea Mother)

One of the most feared among these is Blibdoolpoolp, the Sea Mother a female entity with the head of a lobster, clawed arms, and a shell-like carapace across her shoulders. In the Zorgo realms, such beings are not merely imaginary: they become tangible, as long as enough fervent, mad prayers are uttered in their name.

Priests

Their priests often called archpriests are fanatical leaders who wield genuine divine powers. They are protected by Whips, loyal warriors who fight to uphold the spiritual legacy of their masters. Betrayal among the Zorgo is rarely forgiven.

The Reversal with the Sahuagin

During their descent into the deepest parts of the ocean, the Zorgo encountered the Sahuagin fishlike warriors covered in blue or green scales, some bearing as many as four arms. At first, the Zorgo were captured. But on the day of their scheduled execution, something mysterious occurred: the Sahuagin king suddenly died of heart failure at the exact moment the Zorgo received a vision from their “god.”

Since that day, the Sahuagin have lived in fear. They believe the Zorgo cursed them and have since relinquished much of their former power. Now, the Zorgo rule over part of the Sahuagin domain, the fish-folk serving them with a mixture of dread and superstition.
